Iakov Georgievich Chernikhov(1889-1951) was a constructivist architect, graphic designer, teacher. Combination of these profession drew his strong passion for hand-made graphic art either as expression of architectural fantasies or architectural graphics in a form of drawings, paintings and sculptures. Even though Chernikhov produced around 17,000 drawings and projects only few of his designs were built and very few appear to have survived (strengely enough some hundreds of Chernikhov’s drawings, with an estimated value of $1,300,000, had gone missing from the Russian State Archives).
