In Japan, on the crest of Hakone’s mountain range on a sunny rolling hillside lays the house ‘Geo Metria’ by Mount Fuji Architects Studio. It assimilates to its idyllic surrounding in a simple, modern and still aligned way. The architects aimed to construct an architecture completely organized by the land. ‘If you decide the order of an architecture by taking a close survey of the land, the consequent architecture will have clear order while retaining the continuity of the land.’ And indeed, the Geo Metria House falls harmonic into line with the mountain scenery it’s surrounded by. Clear forms and lines which are mainly made of natural materials give it an elemental and subtle charme.
