Baskerville

Our visit in Birmingham had a lots of surprises for us.

Industry and Genius is a sculptural tribute to John Baskerville (between the Hall of Memory and Baskerville House in Birmingham). On the columns of Portland Stone are reversed bronze letters spelling Virgil, the Roman poet whose works were printed by Baskerville in the famous typeface that bears his name, in 1757.

Baskerville is a transitional serif typeface designed in 1757 by John Baskerville (1706–1775) in Birmingham, England.
